How much love is…

“How much do you love me?” The boy asks his girl.

“I love you so much, over and above the heavens.” She usually replies.

They love each other so much!

….

How do we measure love?

Can we measure love?

One day there had a pretty little girl. Her dad was working abroad. He loved her so much. To the point that whenever he gets home, he always has a present to her even if the other siblings did not have. Unfortunately the father died. Caused by hypertension. The family was unaware of the dad’s condition before his death. It was a shock, especially to the girl!

Sorrow enveloped her life. Years passed, and she still lived in grief. She even engraved into her mind the thought that her dad was just abroad and she was longing for him to come home again.

She did not get the same affection from the family after his death. She kept holding him on. And she was a cry girl.

She grew into a lady. Then a boy came into her life. He loved her dearly. He gave all the love and support she needed. Of all sort! Moral, material, love, care, attention, etc. During her birthday, the family did not celebrate with her. But she was so special to the boy, so he treated her in a cozy restaurant to make her happy. And to cheer her up! Not counting the gift he gave and the beauty treatment she wished!

The love is so sincere that even when one night, he had to leave his mom home to accompany his girlfriend for a job interview… at 11 midnight! To think, that his mom was in his house just for a visit. He lived far away from his mom because of work. The mom understood though. Her son was in love… And to add, he still had to wake up by 4 AM to report to work by six!

However… however… there were some things that the boy did not tell his girl!

The boy usually gave support to the church. But he stopped! To concentrate on his girl’s financial needs. He kept this secret to the girl. He even did not complain about his ballooning charges in his credit card they used. He never told her the financial needs his auntie would need! His aunt was a breast cancer patient and complications already occurred. Lastly, some of his business clients stopped paying! These were heavy burden for him!

But the boy just kept silent.

He kept these things secret, because he loved her so much. He did not like to have his girlfriend bear the burden he had. (He knew, his girl still had her grief because of her dad’s loss.) But, just like her father, it is of no importance to have his girl feel what he felt.

Oh, how much love is!

Do we ever realize how much God has loved us?

God has loved us so much that He offered His life for us! He did not complain carrying the cross!… He did not tell us how much pain He felt while hanging on the cross. The fatigue, the thirst, the burden!… It was not of importance because He has loved us so much!…

We are unappreciative of Him! In fact we even mock Him! Blame Him! And the worst of all, betray Him!

But still, despite and in spite of, He has forgiven us and even asked His Father to forgive us too! “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:32-34)

His love never ceases. He loves us till forever. His love endures forever.

This then is the real measure of love.

“How much do you love me?”

“So much!”

There is no greater love, than to offer one’s life for you…

The vacation continued

My girl, Sarah, and I spent sometime in Splash Mountain, Calamba, Laguna. The resort is pretty cool. The room rate is affordable. Plus, the food is abundant and not that expensive.

Photo Shoot Day 3

March 12

The last day of the thrill. By this time, I had a privilege to spent lunch with the bishop of the diocese, Bp. Arturo M. Bastes, S.V.D., Coadjutor Bishop of Sorsogon, along with some other priests. I also visited major seminary, home of the clergy, and minor seminary. The minor and major seminaries are my mother schools.

Photo Shoot Day 2

March 11

For thrill seekers and mountaineers, here’s something for you to explore! Why not trek a river and picnic at Bayugin Falls? A 20-minute tricycle ride from the town of Bulusan to Brgy. San Francisco. Then, a 20-minute walk to the falls culminates the hiking. The path was mossy and slippery. A steeply descent to the falls made my knees shake! Haha!!! If you have watched Kingkong, the location looks like its setting.

One hour of shooting. Then, a rain threat made us get back to the base site. There had no cottages to shelter my DSLR. Hehe!!! Along with me, by the way, were Baoy, a local ally, and Anthony, a boy tour guide.

In the afternoon, Baoy and I had a little “spirit.” I got drunk, but still shot the bell fry. I climbed its roof top. Hehe! What if I fell, huh!…Scary… Just look at the photos below how tall it is!

Photo Shoot Day 1

March 10

I bought a big lobster only for Php 400.00 ($8.1). It weighed 1.4 kls. Not bad.

In the evening, I had my cousin cook simmered it in coconut milk along with unripened jackfruit. Muy delicioso! I spent my dinner at the beach along with my cousins and their families. Hhhmm… I partnered it with grilled fish and pork chop!

A superb night, huh!
